LED Lighting For Parking Lots

Blog

LED lights will keep your commercial parking light well-lit at night. An electrician can assist with determining where various light products should be installed. Once they have prepared an outline for the lighting upgrades, they will professionally install the light products and the control box.

LED Products

LED (light-emitting diode) products are better equipped for long-term usage. LED products maintain their luminosity for a greater time period than HID (high-intensity discharge) products. LED lighting can be turned on with the flick of a switch. LED products can also be programmed to turn on and off at scheduled times.

HID lighting takes a while to turn on. This older lighting style takes a few minutes to emit full light. When an HID light is turned on, it will produce a soft glow. Gradually, the soft light will turn brighter.

Light Styles

Lights that are going to be used in a commercial parking lot will need to be professionally installed. Many LED light products contain heavy, tall poles. These poles will need to be installed with the aid of mechanical equipment.

An electrical contractor can guide you in choosing LED products that will provide plenty of visibility. They can also advise you on some modern lighting products that are stylish. There are many LED light products that your electrician will be able to install.

Some common light products that are found in parking lots include post top lights, pole lights, bollard lights, and direct access lights. The size of the area where lighting will be installed may restrict you from using some types of lighting. Post top lights and bollard lights are often installed along pathways or the edges of a parking lot. Pole lights and direct access lights are commonly installed in the areas where vehicles will be parked.

The Setup And The Installation

An electrician will determine the proper height for an adjustable light product. If a tall pole light is being installed, an electrical contractor will assess the light output of the light. They will ensure that a light product will provide adequate visibility. Some LED products contain more than one light. A two-way pole light, for example, can be installed in an area that requires more visibility than other areas.

After the electrician has planned where the lights will be installed, they can assist with installing the lighting control box. The lighting control box can be used mechanically or automatically to turn on each of the lights that are on your commercial property.
